Description

Music Staff Lapboard 5/18 takes Pages 5 and 18 – our most versatile pages in ‘Listen…Think…Write!’ and becomes an invaluable tool for your students.  The perfect size to fit into folders, binders or individual instrument kits, your students will love music writing day!  Made of firm, laminated cardboard, these dry erase music staff lapboards are easy to erase (and sanitize!) and made to be sturdy enough to withstand the treatment of elementary-aged children.

Page 5 of Music Staff Lapboard 5/18 consists of two five-line staves, allowing for dry erase work on a Grand Staff, composition or melodic dictation.  With no preprinted clef you are given the autonomy to work with whichever clef you need – ‘do’ clef, treble, alto, tenor, bass, or no clef at all.

Page 18 of Music Staff Lapboard 5/18 implies four measures of 4/4 time.  The clear layout encourages students to develop clear, spread-out spacing when working with rhythm.

  • Cross out the last column and you have 3/4 time
  • Draw a bar line between the second and third beat boxes and work in 2/4.
  • Add a dot to each of the 2/4 hearts and work with 8 measures of 6/8!

“Refresh Books are a godsend! I plan to use them for teaching on-line this summer and will suggest your materials to all of my course participants. In addition, while leading schools in curriculum development, I’ll propose they adopt your dry-erase materials for the entire district – this is the fastest (and most fun) way to have students think and write musically.”

Georgia A Newlin, Past President OAKE, author 'One Accord: Developing Part-Singing Skills in School Age Musicians'

“Musical dictation examples can be attractively and easily notated, corrected, observed, photographed, erased and re-used.”
